www.whatsnext4me.com is designed to enhance the image of the Hospitality industry and promote awareness of the wide range of career opportunities available in the Industry to America's youth - primarily U.S. high school students. The site is an exploration tool for students rather than a career planning tool, and it ultimately seeks to encourage more American youth to pursue jobs and careers in the Hospitality industry.

Statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor indicate that the Hospitality industry is projected to experience significant employment growth in the 10-year period ending in 2012, creating more than 1.6 million new jobs. However, there is a projected shortage of qualified workers to meet these growing needs. One of the most promising labor pools to address this shortage is America's youth, but they are unaware of the range of career opportunities available and potential for advancement in the Industry.

To address this gap in perception and interest, the U.S. Department of Labor provided funding through a grant awarded under the President's High Growth Job Training Initiative, as implemented by the Employment and Training Administration, to create a teen-oriented website that paints a picture of the many rewarding opportunities that the Hospitality industry offers.

(add)ventures and the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance (MFHA), joined the U.S. Department of Labor providing funding for the development and maintenance of this website.

In January 2007, the website was awarded the pretigious "Best in Class" award by the Interactive media Council in the "Youth" category. Click here to learn more www.interactivemediaawards.com/winners/certificate.asp?param=38602&cat=1
