Fast Food.

Enough said?

Actually not...

While you may be most familiar with the concept of "flipping burgers" as the job description at a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), you might be surprised to learn about the many challenges and opportunities that QSR's face each day.

They are, in a sense, the pulse of our eating habits. They have to adapt to changes fast. From burgers and fries to chicken, from salads and fresh fruits to low-carb options... their menu's are changing all the time. Today, there are QSR's serving Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Greek, and Indian meals - not to mention all the "fusion" foods, the coffee and tea outlets, the bakeries, and many other "specialty" food QSR's.

Designing these menus, doing the research, creating the recipes, rolling the changes out to thousands of locations, advertising and promoting the new products... not to mention selecting new locations, finding and managing the people who own the locations, making sure deliveries are on time, designing and developing new equipment, preventing spoilage and waste... these are the things QSR's do every day. Things that we never see when we place an order and expect a hot, tasty meal, delivered as we wanted it, within three minutes.

You might start by flipping burgers or washing dishes or cleaning the floors, but by working hard you can own one of these operations and become an entrepreneur. Or you can pursue any one of the many career paths within the parent company.

There is a lot more to fast food than just fast food!
